Well, besides the weather, I had a pretty good week. I'm doing a couple of interviews with some interesting companies (one today that I'm pretty excited about), so cross your fingers for me. Work continues to be busy and annoying, but what else is new? I'm still dealing with refi and car repairs, so lots of paperwork. But this weekend (mainly due to weather), I stayed in and read and watched stuff, so lots of reviews under the cut
Books:
Sookie Stackhouse Companion - the novella in this is OK, if a little lightweight. some interesting development. The review of the books was good, especially since I had forgotten much of parts of them. Generally ok, but not worth getting excited over.
Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue/Pursuing Eliza Cynster (Laurens) - these were OK. Not her best, but good serviceable fare from a now predictable author.
Canyons of Night (Castle) - Krentz seems to be moving towards a similar setting in her Castle series as she is in her Krentz name, which is a little annoying, since one of the reasons I liked her books as Castle was the very different setting. Still, this was well written and good enough.
TV/Movies:
Social Network - I understand why people liked this, I liked this. Thumbs up for the performances (esp the lead and JT), and thumbs down for the location shots (really, Thirsty Scholar for Harvard undergrads? And that looks NOTHING like the Harvard yard/statue, sigh)
From the new season, I'm still watching Person of Interest, 2 Broke Girls, and Up All Night (Pan Am just fell off the list, and Up All Night is getting close to the edge). Haven't sampled Once Upon a Time, Grimm, or Whitechapel yet.
